Will takes a spin around the track!
Ok, so I didn't get to drive, but Terry invited me out for "Taste of the Track" this weekend, and I played Co-Pilot for 3 laps around Summit Point. While I would have liked to go longer, the Porsche gods were not smiling on us as we were black flagged on the 3rd lap for dragging the entire exhaust on the ground. The good news is that I did no interior redecorating of the 944 (apparently newbies often leave their lunch in the floor boards).

While my time on the track wasn't all that lengthy, I did get to spend a good amount of time out and about checking out the collection of track rats and prima donnas in the paddock. I was hoping for some in-car shots too, but when it came down to it, I'm not so sure that wrestling with a 2 pound camera as Terry whipped it around the track would have been a great idea. What that means is that the groundhog we almost flattened just out of Turn 1 will have to remain faceless to the VaughnNet fans. Trust me - he looked pretty upset that his last moments on earth might involve getting a close up look at the front end of a 20 year old 944. Luckily we avoided any sort of contact, and Mr. Ground Hog may just get his moment in the headlights, er spotlight under some more glamorous circumstances.  ¶ 2:24 PM
