  AAARGH - Pirate Anna
Anna, always the adventurous one, was practicing standing today and had a run in with her toy chest. She took it all in stride, but it was not pretty. After "patching" her up, we couldn't help but find humor in the event... Kati (new nanny) even had a hard time keeping a straight face while I was taping her up.

ARRGH!
Pirate Anna!

However, the REAL humor came when Mia noticed Anna had something funny on her face. No sooner had we put them back into Baby Land than Mia had crawled over to Anna, pulled off her eye patch, and started whacking her with it. Anna, still the trooper, thought this was quite funny, and endured several floggings before I was able to intervene. Needless to say, Anna is recuperating sans patch now, and seems to be doing quite well. She doesn't have a black eye, and other than a little tenderness around her eye, doesn't seem to be feeling it much either. Anyway, sorry for the poor picture quality - these photos are coming courtesy of the camera phone in my Blackberry. I know they are not up to the standards of the rest of the Gallery but you don't really want to see Anna's accident any more clearly anyway.

  Happy Birthday to Me!
Yesterday was my 32nd birthday, and I spent it hanging out with Anna and Mia. We had lots of fun playing with their new Dancing Station toy, watching Baby Einstein videos, and getting oatmeal everywhere. It was good times - not many other dads have the luxury of being able to take time off from work and play with their kids, and I feel incredibly lucky.

For my birthday I bought myself a new camera the week before last and have been using my time off to take lots of pictures of the girls. I've gotten involved with the photo group at www.strobist.com, and have been working on improving my baby photos using off camera flash. There's lots of updates in the galleries, but my favorite group so far is this fall leaves one. I've also started getting together with other Strobist readers to try new photo stuff out - some of those shots are up on my Flickr page (linked to from the baby photos here). Anyway, hopefully all the loyal VaughnNet readers are enjoying the new, improved, and numerous baby photos. If you have any requests get them in soon, as I'm going back to work on the 26th, and will be back to my usual sporadic updates.
